Day 6 + Video Diary
by wartia on Aug.22, 2010, under Studio Diary, Video Diary
We are more than excited to announce that we have left Magnusound studio for good (at least for this EP). Everything is recorded, mixed and mastered - and it fucking sounds killer!
We are entering the phase of post-production now and are trying to make sure that we’ll deliver a high-q record to you in a couple of weeks.
Until next time, enjoy Episode 3:
Day 5
by wartia on Aug.21, 2010, under Studio Diary
Hi theeere!
Since we left the studio two weeks ago I and Jonas have listened a lot to the first raw mix and written down a long list of things that needed to be corrected. So, we spent day 5 doing the following three things:
- Recording bass.
- Recording the remainder of the lead guitars (which by the way sound way too awesome).
- Correcting fuck-ups from our previous sessions.
There also was some pizza eating and I slept a couple of hours on the couch.
When we left the studio today all the instruments and main vocals were done! Tomorrow we’ll start the day off with some additional vocals (even I and Mika will be shouting our arses off) and then produce the final mixing before it is handed over to mastering. I am happy to say that we are right on schedule with everything, and at this point I’m feeling more than confident that this record will knock you on your bottoms!
We’ll update you tomorrow with the video diary, and maybe even a sample?
- Mikko
With about two days left…

I have the bass lines down now. I dragged das Mika unt zie Mikko to my house last sunday and had them listen to what I had come up with and not much apart from some small change-wishes were uttered. So mission going well on the bass-front.
Right now, I (Jonas) am going to Mikko’s house to steal his guitar away from him for two days so I can practice my solos. The reason I’m borrowing his guitar is, like zero of you right now are wondering, beacuse my guitar is trapped in the confinement of Magnusound studios. That place has really become more of a mental institution than a studio.
Well cya and remember to defrost all your stones in time for easter!

As Jonas is in his underpants working the bass, I’ve been working (fully clothed though) on some other stuff that needs to be done before the release. Mostly boring shit, but also some creative fun stuff - like the cover art for the new EP. It’s coming along really nicely and soon in the near future, when all the details are set, we’ll release the name, cover art and other details about this new production. Hopefully we can give you guys a dirty sample track before the full record appears on different russian (illegal) music sites as it always seems to do…

One week left…
by jones on Aug.13, 2010, under Random rantings
With one week left to bass recordings and the weekend off I shall have it written in stone that I today leave the bass be and focus entirely on getting drunk.
Yours truly. Jonas Blomquist.
PS. Very drunk…

Today I’m writing to you as a bass player. Sort of. I got some thick picks today and started jamming with the EP at home. Since Everwhere has never really been a bass player’s band the bass lines came together pretty fast as most of it goes with the guitars. As far as me being a guitarist and not really a bass player I’m still feeling pretty confident about this now that I’ve tried it in practice with the actual bass that is going to be used.
I’m off to do some blow, l8ers

Jones here, checking in from home in my underpants…
I went to get the bass guitar yesterday which will be used to record the bass tracks om the new EP next weekend. I loaned it from my friend Per. Soon I will pick in up and finish writing bass lines and practise them infor the bass session that’s coming up.
Bye bye from underpants-Jones!

Here comes Video Diary Episode 2! Pardon me for the delay, but this has been a long, long weekend for us!
Day 4 (Weekend 2)
by jones on Aug.08, 2010, under Studio Diary
Jones here!
We left the studio after 9 hours today feeling great about the EP so far. On this day we successfully recorded all my rhythm guitars, 2 whole solos and the rest of my lead vocals that were missing. In other words I was working (playing/screaming the vocals) all those 9 hours with an exception for a short lunch so I’m tired as a maddafakka. In conclusion we now have as good as everything down except for the bass which I will be playing in two weeks.
We had a listen today at what it sounds like so far and the result - we think - is quite exciting! You will be getting some hints and peaks of what we heard today in the upcoming episode of our little studio video diary. It should be up before/around midnight tonight.
Be sure to check that out and check this blog out as I’m gonna write some more on my preparations for the bass and the remaining solos.
Cya!!!
